The presentation of the county’s 2013 Woman of the Year and Young Lady of the Year awards will take place on Tuesday (March 18) at the Riverside County Board of Supervisors meeting. The public is invited to attend.

The awards recognize women and young ladies who work to bring about social and economic change, promote women’s equality, serve as outstanding role models to women and girls, work on behalf of women’s issues, or provide outstanding performance within a profession to further advocate for women’s rights and to improve the status of women in Riverside County.

This is the first year that the County of Riverside Commission for Women is recognizing young ladies in each district.

“We hope that by recognizing young ladies in the community, we will encourage promising young women to take on leadership roles in service to Riverside County residents,” said Jennifer Fuller, the commission’s chairperson. “We also want to continue to support women leaders who tirelessly serve our community without requiring recognition or support to do so. They deserve a thank you from the commission on behalf of county residents.”

The following award recipients will be recognized at the beginning of Tuesday’s (March 18) Board of Supervisors meeting at 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside.
