Vote-by-mail ballots for August 25 election on the way starting Monday

Approximately 61,000 vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to voters starting Monday (July 27) for the Special District Mail Ballot Election on August 25. Ballots should arrive in mailboxes by the end of the week. In order to be counted in the election, voted ballots must be received at the Registrar of Voters office by 8 p.m. on August 25, or be postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than three days after Election Day.

The August 25 election includes the Rancho California Water District,  Idyllwild Water District, Pine Cove Water District, High Valleys Water District and is not a countywide election. As an all mail ballot election, there will be no established polling places. Call the registrar’s office at (951) 486- 7200 if you have any questions about your eligibility to vote.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned through the postal service or deposited in vote-by-mail drop-off boxes. Visit the Registrar of Voters website at for more information on drop-off box locations and hours of operation. A 24-hour drop box also is available outside the main entrance of the registrar’s office at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside.

Early voting at the Registrar of Voters office begins Monday (July 27) and runs through August 25, Monday through Friday (excluding county holidays), from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
