Riverside County and its 28 cities are home to almost 200,000 military veterans. In 2013, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved our new Veteran Assistance Leadership of Riverside County program known as V.A.L.O.R. Not long after this program was implemented, the Board of Supervisors introduced, by unanimous vote, the Waive Admissions Involving Veterans Entry or W.A.I.V.E. program. These programs take effect on Veterans Day 2013 (November 11, 2013).

Both programs recognize the contributions of our veterans and the sacrifices of their families. The Board of Supervisors offers free entrance or admission to current and former military personnel, family members, and guests at many county events and facilities. This includes free parking at many of our buildings and facilities.

A military identification card, DD 214, NGB Form 22, or honorable discharge certificate from the federal or state government are required to be presented when utilizing the V.A.L.O.R. or W.A.I.V.E. programs. You may also be asked to present a photo ID.

Discounts by our business community:

The Board of Supervisors encourages all business establishments to offer discounts to our veterans. Business owners and managers can print our VALOR poster and simply place it in their window for use on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, or year-round. This voluntary program is just one way to say thank you to the men and women who serve our nation and state.   Click here to download your poster.
