Mosquito control applications scheduled for Moreno Valley/Nuevo on Thursday

Due to the extremely high activity of West Nile virus, the Riverside County Vector Control Program has scheduled ultra low volume (ULV) ground applications Thursday (10/29) in Moreno Valley using truck mounted sprayers. The treatment reduce the risk of disease transmission to humans and animals by reducing the number of adult mosquitoes in a neighborhood.

Mosquito/vector control assessment ballot to be mailed Friday

A ballot will be mailed Friday (May 22) to property owners in some parts of unincorporated Riverside County about a proposed measure to continue controlling mosquitoes and preventing disease. The County of Riverside Vector Control Program was formed in 1972 to control mosquitoes and other vectors of diseases that could infect the public. A vector is an insect or animal, often mosquitoes and rodents, that can spread infectious diseases to people.
