In recognition of World TB Day March 24, the Riverside County Department of Public Health is honoring the recent efforts of the employees at Indio and Vista Murrieta high schools, along with those at the Rancho Springs Medical Center, who assisted with efforts to conduct tuberculosis testing at their respective facilities. Through their efforts, county health officials were able to test more than 2,500 individuals for TB. The goal was to identify exposed individuals who may have been infected so that treatment could be offered.

TB impacts millions of people each year globally and there has been substantial success in slowing its impact, but the risk of exposure is still too high. The Riverside County Department of Public Health works with its community partners to educate the public about the illness and take action when necessary to stop the spread of TB.
