The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources is seeking volunteers to help with the Riverside County backyard composting program.

Prospective "master composters" will attend a volunteer training course for four Saturdays and will then donate 40 hours back to the program. Volunteers are needed for staffing Saturday morning workshops, classroom presentations, community group presentations and outreach.  It is a great way to learn more about recycling organic resources and then share that knowledge through program presentations. Training classes will be held on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from Aug. 1 through Aug. 22. The department will provide books and study materials.  Limited seats are available. Candidates must apply online at: http://www.rcwaste.org/

For more information send inquires to WasteCompRecyc@co.riverside.ca.us or call Riverside County Department of Waste Resources (951) 486-3200.
